Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to all my work outside of academic papers - and to join a community of people committed to taking the science behind happiness into the real world. I will post an article of around 900 words at least once a week, written to make you think a little differently, or to apply the insights to business, public policy, and wider society. I’ll also be posting regular audio clips (otherwise known as rants). And best of all perhaps... an online informal Q&A session three times a year so that subscribers can ask me questions about the science behind happiness as it relates to their own lives, families, workplaces and policy. Subscribers will also be able to comment on the content, and I would love to hear from people who disagree with me (but mostly of course from those who agree with me).

Who should read Crystal?

If you like science, and are curious about what it can (and cannot) teach us about happiness
If you like challenging your own ideas, those of society - and perhaps some of mine too
If you have a strategic role in a corporation, especially if you have anything to do with HR
If you are a policy-maker or advisor, at any level in government
If you want to help shape the popular discourse around the science behind happiness
If you’re lacking pleasure or purpose and want to learn about how to get happier
If you’re happy and smug about it - such as all those blissfully happy single women out there
If you've come across my popular science books, Happy Ever After or Happiness by Design and want those themes elaborated upon
If you’ve listened to my Duck / Rabbit podcast and are interested in how we can do more to listen to people we disagree with
If you're anyone who wants to use a fiver a month in about the most effective way imaginable

I’m genuinely excited about creating a community of people who are interested in the science behind happiness. I would especially like to create a movement that seeks to embed that evidence in decision-making at all levels, from individuals to institutions, from parenting to policy-making; in the bedroom and the boardroom.
To help facilitate this, we’re making available caps, hoodies, t-shirts, and other bits of merchandise under the auspices of “get happier”. A share of the profits from all sales will go towards the happy campus, which is aimed at building happier communities. You can take a look here – more items to come in the future.
